Mighty Dub Katz, A.K.A. Freak Power…need I go on. After spending the last three months promoting his album ‘You’ve Come Along Way Baby’, Norman vowed to give interviews a rest and headed off to Japan to play some gigs. Before he completely extricated himself from the music press he agreed to answer a few questions we faxed to him in Japan and here is what he had to say for himself.

Acid house forever.

Paul McCartney. Vaguely.

What is the worse case of trainspotterism that you have ever had to endure?

My own, of course.

Friends.

What is the best story that has ever been written about you in the press?

I was beaten up by a pig in 1990.

JVC Force - Strong Island.

Jay Dee - Plastic Dreams.

What is your favourite rock track?

Jimi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic.

Underwear, headphones and Ginger Tim.

Where were you and what were you doing (musically) when you discovered acid house?

Darren Emmerson was DJing at a Boy’s Own party at Bognor Butlins. I was between jobs.

What has been the most memorable moment of 1998 for you?

Glastonbury, Ibiza, Big Beat Boutique, the End, Heavenly Jukebox, Chateau Marmont, Tokyo with Wall of Sound, the Love Parade. The list is endless.
